Do not lean the person against a surface, as is often seen on TV shows. This is a common mistake, as it gives the suspect something to use as leverage to throw him- or herself against you. Either require the suspect to stand straight up or keep the suspect unbalanced.

Top Gun offers the Texas Concealed Handgun Course taught by an experienced instructor with a background in military, law enforcement, and private security instruction. Our professional instructor presents the information with invaluable anecdotal experience. We pride ourselves on the quality of our instructors.

The class consists of a minimum of 10 hours of training time (not including lunch break and travel time to and from the range).

The class includes instruction in:

• Conflict Resolution/De-Escalation
• Firearms Use

Your performance will be evaluated by a 50 round course of fire and a 50 question multiple choice test.


This course is required for all Concealed Handgun applicants in Texas.

Expandable Baton Class

This class will certify the user to carry anExpandable Baton in private security in Texas. Expandable Batons are an Intermediate/Less Lethal Weapon used primarily for applying pain compliance techniques to combative subjects.

The student will be trained in the carry, deployment, and use of expandable batons in street encounters. The student will also receive training in when the use of an Expandable Baton is appropriate and inappropriate.

It is recommended that each student wear comfortable tactical clothing or athletic clothing (must wear long pants). Students must bring, at a minimum, a duty belt, expandable baton in working condition, and a carrier for the baton. Students with questions as to what equipment to purchase should contact the instructor before the class for advice.At the conclusion of training, students will receive a certificate of completion and a pocket card
